WELCOME TO GATEWAY ROCKERS OF ST. LOUIS, MO. USA !!!

Our purpose here:

This club was founded on friendship.  Our hope was to create an online forum for any rider, regardless of age, race, sex, skill level or type of bike.  Consider this a midpoint, if you will, for members of any club to come and make new friends, visit old friends or plan rides.  Chances are, you will see more than a few familiar faces here at GWR!

Weren't "Rockers" european riders in the 60's?

YES!  The Rocker monniker was originally used to refer to a rebellious rider, who sought to customize his bike for pure performance.  In the 1960's and 70's, riders in England were coined "Cafe Racers" due to the large number of them hangin out at the local cafe's, racing from one stop to the next.  The custom was to drop a coin into the jukebox, select "House of the Rising Sun" and jump on your bike ASAP!  They would then race to a predetermined point and back before the song ended.  If they could make it, they would have averaged 100 MPH....This was called "Doing the TON."  The most famous of these cafes was the "Ace" in London, England.

Modern "Rockers":

The cafe racing movement was huge for the motorcycling industry.  People wanted performance, regardless of make or model.  The Rockers brought forth a new are of production bikes, based off of their home-brewed bikes.  We chose to pay homage to those riders by naming our club The Gateway Rockers.  We, too, are a rebellious bunch who love tinkering with our machines.  We, too, could care less about what you ride.  In fact, one of our founders has a saying that summarizes the whole thing...

"It's not WHAT you ride....its THAT you ride!"

Our forums:

As stated above, our forums are open to everyone.  Some clubs are run on a "good ole boy" mentality.  Motorcycling is quite often limited to their close buddies and nobody else.  Not here.  Feel free to register with the site....pick a screen name and post to your heart's content.

Welcome to St. Louis' true Motorcycle club, BY the riders, FOR the riders!!
